Sharon Y. Watson is originally from Chicago, Illinois but is a long time Florida resident. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from St. Leo University and earned her Juris Doctor from Florida Coastal School of Law here in Jacksonville, Florida.

Sharon joins Taylor Day after practicing law for over 17 years in the areas of Criminal Law and Matrimonial & Family Law. Sharon is an experienced jury trial attorney and former Assistant State Attorney for the 5th Circuit where she represented the State of Florida in the prosecution of criminal offenses. She also worked as an Assistant Public Defender where she provided legal representation for underserved defendants charged with felony level crimes on behalf of the State of Florida. Sharon is a trailblazer having made history when honored as the first African American to open a private law practice in Citrus County, Florida. During her 15 years as a sole proprietor, Sharon was honored with the Citrus County Guardian of Justice Award for her Pro Bono work in the community and served as a member of the local County Bar Association and Inns of Court.

Sharon is now a part of the Taylor Day automobile insurance litigation team focusing her practice on Personal Injury Protection Benefits (PIP).

Sharon enjoys spending time with family & friends, traveling and cooking.
