Downtown Jacksonville, Florida law firm seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated full-time in-office Paralegal.Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
- Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, other firms, the court, and litigation support vendors
- Maintain attorney calendar and deadlines
- Review and summarize medical records
- Review and summarize medical service billing records
- Extract relevant information from investigative documents such as police reports, surveillance reports, and government agency records.
- Prepare files for upcoming depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Handle pleading shells/drafts for attorney review
- File and serve documents as needed
- Review court procedures and ensure compliance with specific county and judge rules
- Performs other duties as necessary.
- Strong organization and communication skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail.
- Dependable with a respect for confidentiality and policies.
- Prior legal experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in insurance defense strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of civil litigation procedures.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Knowledge of ProLaw software.

- Experience with breach of contract disputes, fraud, complex torts, including products liability, shareholder disputes, trade secret litigation and similar consumer protection statutes (preferred)

We are seeking an Associate Attorney with significant trucking and/or transportation litigation experience. The position requires a self-motivated attorney who is able to manage their own cases and work with others within a litigation team. - Research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
- Receive new cases and provide an evaluation of claims, including a proposed litigation strategy.
- Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery. This includes the ability to take depositions in preparation for trial and examinations under oath.
- Ability to litigate pre-trial motions.
- Prepare for and represent clients through mediation and trial, including jury trials.
- General file management, including meeting client and court deadlines.
Experience:- Member of Florida Bar (required)
- Member of Middle, Northern, and Southern Districts (preferred)
- 5 years of trucking/transportation litigation experience (required)
- Experience with cargo losses and damage claims for goods in transit (preferred)
- Experience and knowledge of a full spectrum of litigation issues for clients in the trucking and transportation industry (asset)
- Prior use and familiarity with Pro Law (asset)
