  • Attorney – General Liability Defense
    Taylor, Day, Grimm & Boyd is currently seeking a General Liability/ Premise Liability Litigation Attorney. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, able to manage their caseload, and work with others within a litigation team. Some travel will be required for this position. Mentoring and training are provided.
    Responsibilities:
    • Research and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memorandums.
    • Receive new cases and provide an evaluation of claims, including a proposed litigation strategy.
    • Prepare pleadings, motions, and discovery. This includes the ability to take depositions in preparation for trial and examinations under oath.
    • Ability to litigate pre-trial motions.
    • Prepare for and represent clients through mediation and trial, including jury trials.
    • General file management, including meeting client and court deadlines.
    Experience:

    A well-established insurance defense law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Paralegal to join our Florida office. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on preparing, issuing, and tracking subpoenas for records and handling incoming responses. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated entry-level professional with strong organizational skills looking to enter the legal field. This is a fully in-office position at our downtown Jacksonville location.
    Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
    • Draft, prepare, and issue subpoenas for records in compliance with Florida rules of civil procedure.
    • Coordinate with third parties, including medical providers, employers, and government agencies, to obtain necessary records.
    • Track status of outstanding subpoenas and follow up as needed to ensure timely receipt.
    • Review and organize subpoena responses; handle invoices received for records.
    • Maintain detailed logs and files of all subpoena activity.
    • Communicate with attorneys, paralegals, and external parties regarding subpoena-related matters.
    • Assist with general document production and support attorneys and paralegals as needed.
    Qualifications:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage deadlines and multitask in a high-volume environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Prior legal experience as a legal assistant/paralegal in auto defense strongly preferred
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
    • Knowledge of ProLaw software
    • Typing skills

    Taylor, Day, Grimm & Boyd is currently seeking an Associate Attorney with significant business/commercial litigation experience as well as, ideally, substantive experience with products liability and other complex torts. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, able to manage their own cases, and work with others within a litigation team.
    Experience:
    • 3-6 years of substantive business/commercial litigation (required)
    • Experience with breach of contract disputes, fraud, complex torts, including products liability, shareholder disputes, trade secret litigation and similar consumer protection statutes (preferred)
    • Experience with real property disputes and trust and estate litigation (asset)
    • Prior use and familiarity with Pro Law (asset)
    License:
    • Licensed to practice law within the State of Florida (required)

    Downtown Jacksonville, Florida law firm seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated full-time Legal Assistant. This is an in-office position.
    Primary Duties And Responsibilities:
    • Manages calendar of attorney and coordinates conference calls/depositions/mediations, etc.
    • Opens new matters in internal software.
    • Provides follow-up with clients to ensure all claim materials have been received.
    • Knows client procedures and ensures compliance by the firm in general communications with clients as necessary.
    • Answers/directs phone calls.
    • Reviews all outgoing correspondence from attorney for grammar and layout consistency.
    • Tracks deadlines and document completion, and prompts attorney, associates, or paralegals as necessary.
    • Assists attorney with preparing draft pleadings and discovery.
    • Files documents as directed by attorney through the Florida E-Filing Portal, United States District Courts and other courts as necessary.
    • Drafts cover letters and other correspondence as directed.
    • Handles all outgoing mail needs of attorney.
    • Ensures both interoffice and external communication is appropriately documented in system software.
    • Provides copies of all pleadings and correspondence to clients.
    • Operates basic office support functions, such as scanning, printing, faxing, etc.
    • Performs other duties as necessary.
    Requirements:
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
    • Strong organization and communication skills.
    • Meticulous attention to detail.
    • Dependable with respect to confidentiality and policies.
    • Typing skills.
