Attorney Spotlight: Carrie E. Hight

Carrie E. Hight, Esq., originally from Portland, Maine, earned her Juris Doctor from Charleston School of Law. She practiced in South Carolina before joining Taylor Day Law, where she focuses on Construction Defect Litigation.

Q: How long have you been practicing law?
A: 2 years.

Q: In your career, what do you consider your proudest moment or biggest win?
A: Becoming increasingly comfortable with construction lingo and confident in my own ability to litigate.

Q: When you’re not fighting for your clients’ best interests, where can we find you?
A: At the beach looking for shark teeth with my boyfriend, Alex, and our dog, Henley!

Q: If you weren’t an attorney, what would you be doing for a living?
A: If science made sense to me, I’d love to be a marine biologist or veterinarian – I love animals! But, given that writing tends to be more of a strong suit for me (shocker for a lawyer, I know), I would probably try my hand at writing fiction novels.

Q: What is #1 on your bucket list?
A: Go scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef.

Q: Any tips for someone pursuing a career in law?
A: In this profession, you can learn something new every day. Always keep an open mind, be an active learner, and absorb all of the knowledge and experience you can from your colleagues. Be a sponge!
