Julie grew up in southwest Oklahoma. She attended Rockhurst University in Kansas City, MO, where she played NCAA Division II Women’s Golf on a full scholarship and double majored in Economics and Political Science. After college, Julie moved to Beijing, China, where she studied Mandarin and traveled throughout Asia for three years. She then earned her Doctor of Jurisprudence from Penn State Law.
While in law school, Julie clerked for two trial court judges and an appellate court judge. She was a founding teacher of Penn State Law’s Democracy in Action program, where she taught fundamental principles of the U.S. legal system at a local high school. As a 1L, she won first-place advocate at Penn State Law’s Mock Trial Competition. She served as the Co-Chair for Penn State Law’s Moot Court Board, where she was the head of training for the organization after competing in her first moot court competition. She was also an editor for the Penn State Journal of Law and International Affairs and was a founding member and executive chair of the Penn State International Arbitration Group. During her time at Penn State Law, she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award. She worked in BigLaw in Philadelphia before deciding to move to Florida.
Julie worked in the Jacksonville office of a large Florida law firm, focusing on a wide variety of insurance lawsuits. Now, at Taylor Day Law, Julie’s practice focuses on General Liability claims.
Outside the office, Julie enjoys golfing, rooting for the Chiefs, gardening, reading, and spending time with her dog, Zoey.
